Scott Wehrly
Hi!

I am Scott Wehrly, and I am a man of many hats here at Prestwood Software & Consulting! I am the Development Manager, Delphi Team Leader, InterBase guru, Oracle expert, a Project Manager on many applications, and frequent Message Board camper.

I have been a software professional since 1978, when I worked on the data management for one of the plaintiffs in the anti-trust case that broke up AT&T. I still have the TRS-80 Model 1 that I bought the year before to teach myself BASIC programming!

Most of my experience has been in client/server database design and development, with a smattering of experience in communications and application server development. I have a lot of experience building DLL's (and getting them to work properly between Delphi, C++Builder, and MSVC). My language strengths are in C++, SQL, and Object Pascal - but I'm shifting towards Java, XML, ASP, and DCOM. Now that

Hey Scott are you still around.

It's been ages since I talked to you (since Schoolhouse!).  If you read this, send me a line.  I'd love to get your email address again.

Hi, Scott. If you had bought that TRS-80 Model I in North Carolina, I may have sold it to you!

I'm new to the Prestwood Boards and am looking forward to sharing.

Welcome aboard, Tony.

No, I'm afraid that the last time I was in North Carolina, even the Altair hadn't been produced yet. Roll Eyes My TRS-80 came from the factory - my dad and I both ordered from a business vendor at the same time. He got serial# 59, I got serial# 60. That's how old my model is. Big Grin!

We don't get much call for C++ questions on the boards, which might make you and I seem like digital dinosaurs on the boards, but we can always use another VB developer here.

You may have noticed my Delphi background. Here's an interesting little tidbit - the architect of Microsoft's new C# language (the foundation of their ASP replacement) was also one of the architects of Delphi! Big Grin! If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!
