Preferences not retained
My Paradox installation on a laptop (version 11.0.0.411) works OK, apart from a bug I have had once before where it forgets the Advanced setting in developer preferences, displays the Startup screen, resets the Priv folder (to the over-long default path) every time I re-start Paradox after booting up. I have tried deleting all references to pdregcl from the registry and files with that name - which worked last time - but no luck.,

The method I use: Run MSConfig - startup tab, disable pdxregcl (Paradox(R) Registry Key Cleaner).

RE: Preferences not retained
Well sadly pdxregcl.exe seemed to win: I couldn't stop it re-installing itself even after the most diligent registry cleans and deleting/editing the pdxrefcl.ini file. It seems that once it is deleted Paradox re-instates the next time you start Paradox. I have added some Opal to my launch form to set the developer preferences and the Priv directory to where I want them, so that does for now...

Can you help with this: I have installed Runtime and BDE (actually 5.2) on a Vista laptop, but can't find a path to the netdir folder. BDE lists the drives - but they are only the local drives on the laptop not the network drives, which the laptop can see fine from other applications. For example it can see the data and forms etc that are stored on the XP machine, but ovbviously can't open any db's that are being controlled by the netdir.  Would 5.202 by any chance help this? Or is there some Vista security or access setting that I need to alter? Thanks

Regarding...
Borland Database Engine 5.202
Download BDE 5.202 (includes a small BDE Information utility for testing the installation).
