Summary:
Wes Peterson is a seasoned Delphi programmer specializing in business database solutions. Beginning with dBASE II on CP/M, Wes became enthralled with database design and programming. Experienced with Btrieve, R-Base, Emerald Bay, Paradox, Data-Ease, Flash Filer, Access and multiple client server SQL databases, Wes has used C, C++ and Delphi to create numerous custom business database applications.
Availability: Wes works in our corporate office located in Citrus Heights CA (near Sacramento) and is generally available Monday through Friday during business hours.
Education/Training:
I "cut my teeth" on COBOL in the Computer Science department of Sacramento City College. I could see the PC revolution coming, but the schools available to me at that time didn't offer C or dBASE courses, so I set off on a self-teaching adventure - and have never looked back. As Mike Prestwood says, "They don't teach Delphi in college." In addition to attending numerous Borcon conferences, participating in developer user groups, and seminars; and amassing quite a library of those $60, 5-pound computing books, I've made great use of the training resources available on the Internet.
Work History:
Although I've been doing it for 25 years, now, software development, for me, is a "second" career. Previously I worked in a variety of industries, and spent most of my time in the automotive aftermarket. Hands-on experience in many different businesses is, I think, one of the unique things I bring to the table as a developer.
